10 Testament Bible Stories of The Miracles of Jesus

10 Testament Bible Stories of The Miracles of Jesus

Jesus Christ performed countless miracles during the three years He spent in the public ministry. Certain miracles were greatly discussed, while others were only mentioned briefly. While there are many miracles mentioned in the Bible, some of these, in particular, will give you an idea of the miracles of our Lord.

These miracles consist of inspirational stories of healing, dealing with forces of nature, treating the body, and much more. However, all of them had a major spiritual impact on the people who experienced or witnessed these—even today, listening to testimonies of healing Miracles creates an interest and curiosity about Jesus, which ultimately helps us become closer to Him.

Some of the miracles of God are discussed in particular passages which will be listed. Let’s discuss some of these healing miracles and stories of Jesus to help you realize the benevolence of our Lord.

1. John 2:1-11 – Turning Water into Wine

The very first miracle Jesus Christ performed was turning water into wine at the wedding of Cana of Galilee. This miracle was an introduction of who Jesus was to His disciples.

Mary approached Jesus when the host ran out of wine, and she realized that He was gifted. She asked the servants to do what Jesus told them, and He asked the servants to fill six pots full of water. Later, He asked the servants to take the wine from these pots for the feast. John says that this is the first miracle, and the disciples saw the magnificence of Jesus Christ.

2. Matthew 8:5-13 – Healing the Centurion’s Servant

A centurion had a servant who contracted palsy. At the time, anyone diagnosed with palsydied within days. However, the centurion had heard about people sharing stories of healing miracles.

Jesus decided to help the servant. However, the faithful centurion understood His authority and didn’t feel worthy to accept the Lord in his home. He believed that Jesus possessed such great influence that if He ordered a person to be healed from a distance, the person will get healed.

The man left with great confidence and faith that the servant would be healed when he reached his home. However, his servant was cured the moment he started to believe in Jesus. Other passages that mention this miracle include Luke 7:1-10.

3. John 5:1-15 – The Pool of Bethesda

Jesus found a man in Jerusalem who was ill for around 38 years. The man was lying next to a pool of water which he believed had healing capabilities. The man trusted the healing of the water would heal his illness. However, nobody would help the man get into the pool.

Jesus asked this man if the man wants to be healed. The man wanted to be healed but he couldn’t help himself. Jesus then told him to stand up, take his bed, and return home. Jesus found the man later that day and provided him with spiritual healing for his sins.

Sharing God’s miracles has always helped people restore and strengthen their relationship with God. Even today, Jesus performs miracles in our lives in various divine ways. You need to be sharing your healing miracles with the Christian community and others.

Your powerful Christian testimonies will help listeners enter a healthy conversation that increases their curiosity about God’s miracles. This will ultimately help restore and strengthen their faith.

4. Mark 4:35-41 – Calming A Storm

Once, Jesus and His disciples were journeying across the Sea of Galilee. Suddenly, a storm appeared and threatened the boat He was traveling in. While the disciples panicked, Jesus was asleep at the back of the boat.

The disciples asked if He could do something about the storm. Jesus spoke to the storm, asking it to remain calm. The storm immediately ceased. Later, Jesus questioned his disciples about their time with Him and why they were still afraid of anything.

Now, the disciples were even more frightened as although they had been traveling with Jesus witnessing His miracles, they didn’t completely realize the power He possessed. Other passages that mention this miracle include Luke 8:22-25 and Matthew 8:23-27.

5. Matthew 9:27-32 – Healing Two Blind Men

There are countless healing miracles of Jesus. This story involved two blind men who came to Jesus. This passage also states Jesus was raising a girl from the dead, and the blind men had heard of this miracle.

The Lord asked one simple question from these men. He asked them whether they thought that He would be able to heal them. These men had faith in Him, and they answered Him positively. Later, Jesus touched these men and they got their eyesight back. Other passages that mention this healing miracle include Luke 18:35-43, Matthew 20:29-34, and Mark 8:22-26.

6. Luke 17:11-19 – Healing 10 Lepers

In Jerusalem, Jesus met 10 lepers. These men were outcasts, and they knew that they shouldn’t come in contact with the public. The men asked Jesus’ mercy from far away. Jesus humbly asked them to visit a priest so they could be declared innocent.

While the lepers were traveling to the priest, they felt that their bodies were healed. Jesus didn’t even touch them and did not ask them to show their faith. Jesus healed these men with His will.

Once the lepers realized that they were clean, one of them came to Jesus and bowed in front of Him. He thanked Him for healing his sickness. Jesus asked this man where the others were as they didn’t return with him. Jesus told the man that faith has made him complete not only physically but also spiritually.

7. John 6:1-15 – Feeding 5000

Although there are various mentions about Jesus feeding several people who had faith in Him, this story in John Chapter 6 is a noteworthy mention. Jesus was teaching people the whole day, and it was getting late. Everyone was in a distant area where they didn’t have any food to eat.

Jesus became concerned for the people as they were starting to get hungry. However, Jesus saw this as an opportunity for his disciple to learn about Him. He told Philip about the area where they could find bread.

There were no markets in the area, and there wasn’t enough money to feed everyone, even if they could buy food somehow. But Jesus didn’t ask his disciples to understand the seriousness of the situation; He had asked his disciples so they could realize the miracle that they were about to witness.

Andrew bought a boy some lunch which included two small fish and five loaves of bread. Jesus took this and prayed over it. He divided the offering into smaller portions and asked his disciples to distribute it to everyone.

The disciples noticed that the food that was being distributed wasn’t depleting. After everyone ate their fill, they gathered the remaining food and found that the food was actually more than what they started with.

The passage states that there were around 5000 men who were fed through this miracle. We also know that there was a child mentioned and probably there were thousands of other children and women as well. This isn’t the only miracle of feeding multiple people that Jesus performed. This is also why you may find several people referenced in the Gospels. Other passages that discuss the miracle include Luke 9:10-17, Matthew 14:13-21; 15:32-39, and Mark 6:30-44.

8. John 6:16-27 – Jesus Walking on Water

Jesus once sent his disciples to cross the sea of Galilee in a boat. When they reached about 5-6 kilometers, a powerful wind threatened their path.

Jesus went to His disciples by walking on water. The disciples were scared of seeing Him walking on the surface of the sea as they didn’t know it was Him. However, they recognized His voice and welcomed Him on the boat.

People who had seen Jesus send his disciples away unaccompanied were shocked to see that Jesus wasn’t where they anticipated Him to be. They took a boat of their own and found that Jesus crossed the sea without a vessel. Other passages that mention this miracle include Mark 6:45-52 and Matthew 14:22,33.

9. Mark 7:31-37 – Healing A Deaf Man

Jesus was in a crowd when someone brought a deaf man towards Him. Jesus took this man away from the crowd and communicated with him. Jesus understood the condition of this man by touching his tongue, ear, and spitting.

He then looked to heaven, which was an indication to the deaf man of who He was and His powers. Jesus then spoke the word Ephphatha which is an Aramaic word meaning “to open.”

Jesus freed this man’s ears and opened his tongue, and the Bible states that the man spoke plainly. It’s important to note that we aren’t told how this man became deaf and that he spoke plainly.

However, if he had been in the same situation for years, the man may not have heard the language he was speaking. This means that Jesus’ miracle not only restored this man’s hearing and voice but also miraculously developed his language.

10. John 11:1-44 – Rising of Lazarus

Lazarus, Mary, and Martha were three siblings that lived in Bethany and were friends with Jesus. Lazarus was terminally ill and was about to die. However, Jesus delayed His visit and went to Bethany after two days.

It was because the time wasn’t right. Jesus traveled to Bethany with his disciples and met Martha on the way. She believed that Jesus possessed the miracle to heal Lazarus. Jesus asked Martha that she doesn’t need to worry as He could even raise Lazarus from the dead.

Martha believed in the revival of the departed. She had put her complete faith and assurance in Jesus and that she would be able to see her brother again. However, she didn’t realize that Jesus could revive her brother Lazarus before the approaching rebirth.

Later, Mary came complaining to the Lord about delaying his visit, which caused Lazarus’ death. Mary’s grief saddened Jesus. People had started to lose confidence over His dominion. Everyone knew He was giftedto perform miracles, but nobody knew that He could also grant life.

After four days of Lazarus’ death, Jesus asked Mary to open Lazarus’ grave. Jesus then prayed to the Fatherdeclaring His trust and faith in God’s power. Jesus showed people the source of His power. He then summoned Lazarus from the grave, and he emerged wrapped in the clothes he was buried in.

Jesus Christ would heal diseases, physical illnesses, revive the dead, and control natural elements. He had the power over our physical universe. Every miracle that Jesus Christ has performed teaches us about the relationship between God and man. We must help others in the name of Jesus and spread his message of positivity and faith to help them believe.
